About

Function Health MRI & CT Scans are imaging add-ons delivered through Ezra, the AI-driven imaging company Function acquired. The menu spans quick heart and lung CT scans plus MRI options for head, neck, abdomen, pelvis, spine, joints, brain analysis, MR angiography, and body composition depending on the order. Every scan uses Ezra image enhancement and radiologist review, giving Function members a way to place imaging next to their lab trends.

Every scan is read by a board-certified radiologist. Ezra's FDA-cleared AI enhancement supports image quality before review, and the radiologist signs off on the final report.

What to Know

Signature approach

Members choose a scan based on the screening question, complete it through Ezra's imaging-center network, and receive a radiologist-reviewed report. The product is designed to make preventive imaging easier to add to a lab-driven health routine without turning every member into a full-body MRI buyer by default.

What sets it apart

  • Multiple imaging paths. Heart CT, lung CT, base MRI, spine MRI, and neurological/skeletal MRI options sit under one Function member surface.
  • Ezra technology layer. FDA-cleared image enhancement supports the scan before a board-certified radiologist signs off.
  • National footprint. The 170+ imaging-center network makes the product broader than a single-location screening clinic.

Before You Order

  • Membership comes first. Imaging access runs through Function membership, so include the annual membership cost in your planning.
  • Match the scan to the question. Noncontrast MRI, Heart CT, and Lungs CT each cover different anatomy and tradeoffs.
  • Discuss CT exposure. Heart and lung CT use low-dose radiation, so review repeat scanning and cumulative exposure with a clinician.
  • Check eligibility. Ezra lists restrictions for pregnancy, metal implants, recent cancer diagnosis, active cancer treatment, and users under 18.
  • Expect Ezra delivery first. Reports currently land in Ezra before the Function app integration is complete.

What’s not included

Function's noncontrast MRI scans do not cover chest, lungs, heart, breasts, arms, or lower legs. Heart screening is handled through the separate Heart CT, which returns a coronary calcium score. Lung screening is handled through the Lungs CT. Breast MRI requires specialized coils and IV contrast, so Function points members toward other screening options such as GRAIL or outside breast imaging.

Reference ranges methodology

Scans are interpreted by board-certified radiologists against standard imaging criteria. Heart CT returns a coronary artery calcium score, while MRI and CT findings are reported against accepted radiology thresholds. Ezra's FDA-cleared AI supports image enhancement before the final radiologist read.

Pricing

Starting at

$349

Heart CT Scan: a 5-minute gated low-dose CT timed to the heartbeat, returning a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) score read by a board-certified radiologist with FDA-cleared AI image enhancement applied. If natural heart motion prevents the AI from calculating a CAC score, the heart portion is refunded.

In practiceReal-world pricing notes, add-ons, and coverage limits.
  • Membership gate: scans are add-ons unlocked through Function membership, so the annual membership sits alongside the scan price.
  • Scan prices: Heart CT $349, Lungs CT $399, MRI $899 member / $999 non-member, MRI with Spine $1,499 member / $1,699 non-member, and MRI with Skeletal & Neurological Assessment $3,999/yr. - Year-one math: a member buying the base MRI would spend about $1,264 before any lab add-ons or extra scans. HSA/FSA eligible.

Frequently asked questions

Are MRI and CT scans included with my membership?

No. Your Function membership unlocks access to purchase scans as an Add-On at member-only pricing. You decide when it's right for you.

Will an MRI expose me to radiation?

MRI scans use magnets and radio waves -- no ionizing radiation. Low-dose CT scans deliver approximately 2 millisieverts, which meets American College of Radiology guidelines and is FDA-cleared.

Why don't the MRI scans include heart or breasts?

Function uses noncontrast MRI, which fits some body areas better than others. Heart screening uses the separate Heart CT, and breast MRI requires specialized coils and IV contrast.
