Viome founder and serial entrepreneur commercializing national-lab RNA science for consumer health testing

Naveen Jain portrait

About

Naveen Jain founded Viome in 2016 after building companies across internet, consumer data, lunar resources, and national-lab commercialization. Viome grew out of Bluedot, which licensed research from US Department of Energy national laboratories, including the metatranscriptomic platform developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory by co-founder Momo Vuyisich, PhD. Jain also founded or co-founded InfoSpace, Intelius, Moon Express, TalentWise, and World Innovation Institute, and he sits on Viome's board.

What to Know

Signature approach

Jain's Viome role is founder-CEO and category builder. He connects licensed national-lab science, an AI team led by Guruduth Banavar, PhD, and Momo Vuyisich's metatranscriptomics platform into a consumer product company with testing, subscriptions, research, and public-health ambitions.

What sets them apart

  • Cross-domain company builder. His ventures span InfoSpace, Intelius, TalentWise, Moon Express, Bluedot, and Viome.
  • National-lab commercialization route. Viome's core technology came through a DOE national-lab licensing path, not a typical consumer-wellness brand build.
  • Public category platform. His books, Mindvalley course, XPRIZE work, and speaking circuit reinforce Viome's precision-health positioning.
