John Cummins, MBBS, MPH, FRACP
Founder and Director, Executive Medicine; Consultant General Physician · Executive Medicine
FRACP consultant physician and Executive Medicine founder with public-health training and life-insurance CMO roles
About
John Cummins is the founder of Executive Medicine and a Sydney-based consultant general physician. He earned his MBBS from the University of Sydney in 1984, completed specialist physician training at Concord Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, became an FRACP physician in 1992, and later completed an MPH in the United States. He founded the current Executive Medicine practice in 2004 and remains closely tied to its preventive-health model, while also serving as Chief Medical Officer for Clearview, NEOS, and PPS life-insurance businesses.
What to Know
Signature approach
Cummins' work centers on finding risk early and making prevention concrete. Executive Medicine's 1-2.5 hour assessments layer cardiac risk screening, cancer screening, pathology, body composition, and lifestyle review into a single visit. His public-health training and long-running interest in blue-zone populations show up in the questions behind the model: what choices, evidence, and monitoring help someone stay healthy for longer?
What sets them apart
- FRACP specialist physician. Cummins brings a specialist internal-medicine pathway rather than only a GP background.
- Public-health training. His MPH adds a population-health and prevention lens to individual assessments.
- Insurance-medicine credibility. Current CMO roles at Clearview, NEOS, and PPS make the Insurance Medical Assessments line a real extension of his work.
- Long founder tenure. He has been tied to Executive Medicine since the current practice was founded in 2004.
Before You Book
- Founder, not current CEO. Georgia Wyatt is now CEO and Medical Director; Cummins remains the founder and senior physician.
- Care focus. Patients who want specialist-physician depth, prevention, cardiac risk review, and evidence-led longevity context.
- Works with your GP. Executive Medicine is designed to complement regular primary care rather than replace it.
