Guruduth Banavar, PhD is Viome's Founding CTO and Head of Discovery AI, the AI architect among Viome's founding leadership. Before Viome, he spent 22 years at IBM, rising to Vice President of Cognitive Computing and leading worldwide teams behind Watson AI systems. He earned a computer-science PhD at the University of Utah, joined IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center in 1995, and left IBM in 2017 to build Viome's model layer for host-microbe molecular data.
