About

AFP Telehealth is the Texas virtual-care arm of AFP Wellness & Aesthetics. It is run by Montana O'Dell, MD and Donna Ayala, MD, board-certified family medicine physicians who also practice locally in Amarillo. The service covers GLP-1 weight loss, HRT for men and women, peptide therapy, sexual health, and age-well prescriptions such as NAD+, B12, glutathione, and methylene blue. Consults are virtual, follow-up happens through the membership, and approved prescriptions ship to the patient's home.

What to Know

Signature approach

Care runs through a virtual consult with O'Dell or Ayala, then a membership for follow-up appointments, dosing support, and ongoing questions. Medication formats are selected around the treatment line: GLP-1 drops or injections, testosterone by injection/troche/topical cream, peptides by troche or subcutaneous injection, and age-well products such as NAD+ or B12. Labs are added for HRT and many peptide protocols.

What sets them apart

  • Two named physicians. O'Dell and Ayala handle consults, prescribing, and follow-up for a smaller, continuity-oriented telehealth model.
  • Primary-care backdrop. Both physicians also practice at Amarillo Family Physicians and hold hospital privileges at BSA Health System and Northwest Texas Hospital.
  • Broad treatment menu. Weight loss, HRT, peptides, sexual health, and age-well prescriptions sit under the same care team, with Amarillo aesthetics and DEXA available locally.

Before You Book

  • Texas only. AFP lists Texas telehealth coverage; aesthetics and DEXA are local to Amarillo.
  • Testosterone context. Testosterone is Schedule III. Federal telemedicine flexibilities currently allow qualifying audio-video prescribing of Schedule II-V medications through December 31, 2026, when federal and state requirements are met.
  • Labs and products. HRT and many peptide protocols add separate lab costs, and most product prices are confirmed through the consult flow.
  • Small-practice model. Expect more continuity with the same physicians. Confirm appointment availability if you need a tight start date.

How it works

  1. 1

    Book a virtual consult

Schedule the required telehealth consultation with one of AFP's Texas-licensed physicians.

  2. 2

    Provider Review

The physician reviews health history, goals, medication fit, and whether labs are needed before a treatment plan is written.

  3. 3

    Choose a membership

Select the membership tier that matches the treatment plan: weight loss, HRT and peptides, or VIP with an annual DEXA scan for Amarillo-area members.

  4. 4

    Start the plan

Purchase the prescribed products separately from the membership. Approved prescriptions ship to the patient's home.

  5. 5

    Continue follow-up

Use follow-up appointments for dose adjustments, side-effect questions, lab review, and treatment changes.

Additional details

Medication and prescribing detailsFine-print prescribing, pharmacy, and state-professional-corporation details.

Testosterone is Schedule III. AFP's testosterone telehealth depends on federal DEA extensions that allow qualifying audio-video prescribing of Schedule II-V medications without a prior in-person exam through December 31, 2026, when other federal and state requirements are met. GLP-1 medications are outside DEA scheduling. Compounded sublingual semaglutide is produced outside the FDA-approved manufacturer pathway, while branded semaglutide products such as Wegovy and Ozempic are FDA-approved products.
